Last Thursday, I attended the media preview of Sentosa Spooktacular 2012 at Fort Siloso (FS) courtesy of OMY Blog Club, where they hired iconic Asian supernaturals to join us this halloween; Miss Pontianak, the Chinese Ghost Bride, the Dead Soldiers from the WW2 era and the Chinese Vampire.
FS plays host to the event, housing 5 new horror trails: Camp Berhantu, Ouija Board, Deadly Doll Studio, The Land of the Lost Souls and The Last Sequel, and it’s their first time doing so. Usually, FS closes to the public by 6pm because it is reputed to be haunted (due to its history of being a wartime venue). Don’t be afraid though, for the organization has made necessary precautions to ward off evil.. or perhaps not. In my opinion, I love the vibe that FS brings to Spooktacular. Furthermore, the trails takes place in the tunnels used by the WW2 soldiers then… Need I say more?
Said Mr. Jimmy Wong, Events Director, Sentosa Leisure Group: “This year, it is all about authenticity when presenting horror at Sentosa Spooktacular. Fort Siloso today stands as a reminder to one of the most tempestuous chapters in local history. With the addition of our Asian supernatural entities, we were able to tap into their individual experiences and cultures to bring to life the Asian folklore that we grew up with. After all, what can be more realistic and scary than finding out if there is any truth to these urban legends?”
Sentosa Spooktacular is open to the public on October 19 & 20, and 26-28, from 7pm to 11pm. To find out more, visit their website here.
P/s: I honestly think it’s worth it, so go!
